I moved into the apartment next door to Diana near Fukuoji temple. It is a little ways from campus, small (4-jou 1K), and has a joint bathtub-toilet-sink bathroom (like on a ship), but it is furnished, and foreigner-friendly (actually marketed to foreign students) and the window overlooks a small creek.

Our apartment building has 6 units. There are 3 each on the third and second floors. The first floor is a shop of some sort, and also has a room with a table for studying and hanging out, as well as a washing machine.

So far it has just been Diana and I on the third floor (the other tenants moved out), but today an American boy doing a year long exchange program at Rits moved into the other room on our floor.

Yesterday for the first time I saw someone from the apartment building next door (our buildings' respective staircases are right next to one another. I'm kind of jealous of the cool ivy growing on theirs). We exchanged greetings of こんばんは (good evening).

I found a good 3 mile default jogging route apartment up a mild hill (following the road), and then back down the hill. I sure need it as I have been baking tons of chocolate chip cookies in my small toaster oven on a tiny 4" x 6" baking sheet.

Edit: Our apartment is also fabulous in winter.
