Artist Point is actually the beginning trailhead for the Chain Lakes Loop in spring, summer, and fall. However, in winter the parking lot and road leading to it are buried under snow, and it makes one of my friends' favorite snowshoe views.

Unfortunately, the day I went to check it out it was pretty socked in. But we had fun meeting the local birds and building snowmen.

There is also the opportunity for eagle viewing on the drive home. We saw a few, and also had this great winter landscape view from the car.
