Washington Trails Association (WTA) guide: Lake Valhalla Snowshoe
This is a great snowshoe....except for hiking along the interminably long forest service road leading to the actual fun snowshoe part of the hike. Once you got away from the road and wind your way up to the mountain, the hike is pure bliss (and a bit of a navigational nightmare if you're breaking trail and are not really sure where you're going).
We had a lot of fun smushing our way through a ton of fresh powder. It was perfect snowball snow as well. Great loose snow avalanche conditions as well.
Can you see the trails of snow? We dislodged quite a bit just walking, and the snow kept rolling...
