Washington Trails Association (WTA) guide: Hex Mountain Snowshoe
I did Hex Mountain last fall as a regular hike. This time, we intended for it to be a snowshoe, but the trail conditions weren't quite right and we ended up packing our snowshoes the whole way.
At this time of year, trail starts and ends with a muddy forest road. Earlier in the year, the road will also be covered in snow and the entire hike will be snowshoeable. The snow above the road was crisp, so we actually ended up just putting on microspikes and hiking the whole way.
Yes, we did indeed carry our snowshoes the entire way.
I really want some colored mirror sunglasses like Kara's.
