My aunt and uncle came down with the flu, and late Friday night were posting on Facebook and Instagram to see if any of their friends and family in the area could use their tickets for a tour of a couple Skagit Valley tulip farms. Andrew was out of town, but my friend Almut was free, so we took my aunt up on their generous offer and woke up before dawn to get on the tourbus departing from MoPOP (formerly EMP).

Obligatory shot among the tulips.
Usually the tulips line up in rows of color, but every so often you encounter a rebellious blossom.
Lots of mud and water on the pathways provides an excellent opportunity for reflection.

For lunch, the tour drops you off in the small town of La Conner, WA.

At a bakery, we found excellent cardamom buns.

Tulip Town also had a visiting Kite Circus.
