Tourism: NYC in a day and a half

I had nearly consecutive conferences in DC and AZ, and managed to squeeze a quick trip to NYC to visit Diana in between. I stayed with her at the Webster Apartments, which was a strange mix of dormitory, sorority, hostel, and hotel. It was conveniently a few blocks away from one of the Bolt Bus stops, and had great views of the New Yorker and Empire State buildings from its roof.

The evening I arrived was the Game of Thrones premier, so we watched that together. For my full day in town we didn't really have a plan, but she could get us in to MoMA for free through her work, so we went to see paintings by Monet, Picasso, and Dali, as well as works by artists less familiar to me. One of her fellow Webster Apartmentites worked at the UN, and gave us a quick tour in the afternoon. At night, we walked along the High Line and ate ice cream. It was a very fun trip.
